This recipe is for 4 people.
Ingredients
100 g butter
450 g onions, peeled and sliced thin
1 l bouillon
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
12 slices of toasted French baguette
150 g grated Gruyère cheese

Preparation
Melt the butter in pan. Add the onion slices and fry for about 15 minutes on low heat until they become translucent. Stir often to prevent them from burning.
Add the bouillon little by little. Bring to a boil.
Add salt and pepper to taste. Lower the heat, put the lid on the pan, and let it boil for 30 minutes on low heat. Taste and add more salt and pepper if needed.
Ladle the soup into four individual oven-proof bowls. Carefully put three slices of baguette in each bowl. Then, place grated cheese on top of the pieces of baguette.
Put the bowls in a hot and preheated oven on grill mode. The soup is ready when the cheese starts to melt and bubble. Serve immediately.
Bon appétit!
